Water Birth

These photographs show you how simple it is
Here is a first birth for this couple who did not plan a waterbirth.  It was offered as a form of pain relief & worked so well with the breathing that the mother was happy to stay in the water for the birth.

I am teaching birth preparation workshops for the aim of achieving a positive and gentle birth. This is a proactive look at real scenarios and how you can get the best from yourself and your support partner. Aims are
to relax and find your strengths in labour
to retain your power of choice
to enjoy your labour and birth
If you are interested in reserving a place locally on a Saturday or Sunday 10 – 3 course please contact activebirth4u@yahoo.com or
Call (+44) (0)7895016222
Please contact me by email for more information or support with childbirth.

Above is a great water birth for a first time mother (& father) anything can happen in life and birth.  This was a 4 hr labour.  The mother is a school-teacher but despite this overcame the tendency to think through labour.  Instead she participated in her natural process.  I hope you can see the benefits of feeling supported by her partner and breathing encouraged by the midwife showing ripples in the water.  The warm water immersion has a calming affect on her whole mind and body to allow greater trust to simple let the baby birth - naturally.

Water Birth is Simple and Safe.  There doesn’t need to be any debate about permission.  Informed Choice is the only consideration and a supportive midwife or doula.

Please feel free to give feedback or ask questions.

Good luck wherever you are
